4. Once I am matched to a pro, how do they contact me? Can I contact the pro?

The guide will e-mail or phone you directly.  Once a match has been made, we will also e-mail you with your pro's contact information. You may choose to contact them directly.

5. Do the fishing pros charge a higher rate when using HireAFishingGuide.com?

Absolutely not! Our guides charge you their advertised rates. Our members pay HireAFishingGuide.com a small fee each time they successfully book a trip. This fee is in lieu of other advertising methods. They are not obligated to pay our fee if you decide not to book the trip for any reason.

6. Does HireAFishingGuide.com guarantee the pros are licensed and insured?

All of our members provide insurance and license information before they can become a member and they update them annually. However, insurance and licenses can expire, be cancelled, or revoked without our knowledge. HireAFishingGuide.com cannot guarantee the existence of these items at any time. Consumers should always check this information for themselves when hiring any service professional.

7. How does HireAFishingGuide.com qualify the guides and charters?

Our fishing guides, charters and outfitters are the most qualified in the industry. Anglers like you are surveyed after every trip, assuring our members are always improving and adding incentive to please you. Our system is automated and the match may be made in as little as five minutes.  Most matches are made within 2 days.

9. What do I need to bring on my trip?

Guides provide all of the necessary fishing equipment and most let you bring your own if you wish. You should bring your fishing license, sunglasses, camera, sunscreen, food & beverages, rain gear, appropriate clothing, and a cooler for your catch. Talk to your pro about additional items you may need.

10. Does HireAFishingGuide.com serve my location and type of fishing?

HireAFishingGuide.com covers all waters in the United States and offer all types of salt and fresh water fishing trips. We have future plans to soon offer trips in other countries. E-mail us if you would like to be notified when we expand to a country you would like to fish.

11. Is tipping or gratuity customary?

Yes. Tips are not required but are appreciated for exceptional service on small boats. The crew or mate on a charter boat depend on tips. Customary tips range from 10 to 20 percent based on the level of service.
